What are messages and notifications?     (back to top)

Messages are used to keep you up to date with what is happening online, in addition to emails and SMS messages. Messages allow you to be informed of what is happening but also to keep track of things that have happened previously. For example, if a builder locates a tradesman on the website and would like to request his services, they will send an email, at the same time a message will be placed in the tradesman’s inbox of his account. When this message is read or actioned, it is moved into read messages for future reference.

How will I know when I have a message?     (back to top)

When you login to your account, you are presented with three main options on the right of your screen. One of the options will read ‘Messages’ by default, however if you have unread items in your inbox, you will be presented with the orange button that will read ‘You have mail!’ instead.

What is Waiting on Tradesman Responses?     (back to top)

When a builder requests a tradesman's services, they are effectively notifying the tradesman of that project and then will wait to hear back from them. In order to keep track of those who have been notified of the project, they are added to the ‘Waiting on Tradesman Responses’ section of the messages area.

Here you can also search for similar tradesman by selecting the option ‘Find replacement’. Please note that clicking this option will automatically submit the search for you, using the information you supplied previously.

What is Waiting on Builders Responses?     (back to top)

When a Tradesman requests to view a builders project, the tradesman is effectively notifying the builder they are interested in the project, but would like to see the documentation first. Once they have notified the builder, they are waiting to hear back with regards to whether or not access to the documentation is granted. In order to keep track of those requests, they are added to the ‘Waiting on a Builder Responses’ section of the messages area.

Here you can find more projects of this kind and for the requested dates by selecting the option ‘Search again’

This displays for both a builder and a tradesman.

This message is displayed to a builder when a tradesman has seen a project and has shown interest, indicating they would like to work on the job. This indicates to the builder that the tradesman is waiting for a response from them and the builder should either select ‘Accept’ or ‘Decline’.
